Richard Pearson - Driver/Mechanic
A lorry driver for a local recycling company Carlton Recycling specialising in the collection of cardboard and paper in the lincolnshire area from business and education establishments.
I started racing in 2006 by competing in selected rounds of the MR2 Challenge, using a car prepared and run by Cheshire Racing. This provided me with the confirmation that i wanted to race, but the costs involved with hiring a car were beyond my budget for a full season. It was at the first MR2 meeting of the season where i became involved with the Locost series as while testing on the friday Vicky in car #71 had a fuel pipe come off and ignite causing severe fire damage to the wiring loom. So having met Vicky once before i along with others started the job of rewiring, and at half ten that night we had her car running again. Since then i've been spannering for vicky, and trying to teach her alittle about the mechanics of her car. (She's even taken the engine out herself now!) My final outing in 2006 was in a locost hired from Steve Baker, to take my place in a team for the Birkett Relay at silverstone alongside Gary Parkes, Vicky Pickles and Paul Presgraves. We all had a fantastic time and didn't shame ourselves by any means. 2007 saw me racing in my own Locost built over the winter intime for the donington park round of the championship. While i enjoyed the car i never felt it liked me and towards the end of the season i got the chance to race a Van Diemen formula ford, this showed me the way i would be going in 2008. The year started with me hiring for the first round before buying a class a formula renault, which i've been competing in since.
Matt Franks - Mechanic
Matt is a friend who i've known for several years since i began Marshaling at Cadwell Park. An excellent mechanic and fabricator.
Julie Peason - Mum/General Support
Wasn't too keen on me racing, but will be at most meetings. Now she's got the racing bug.
Rachel Smith - Fiance/Supporter .
Rachel's been kart racing for around 8 years and will hopefully soon have the chance of doing her full race licence in 2010.
